I’ve been completely fed up with news/feed/rss/atom readers these days. I use Linux as my primary operating system, and I only have a few feeds that I want to rip through quick so I can get to reading the content. Yet, trying to find a reader that doesn’t suck donkey balls has been a chore.

I’m dropping a large blog post on everyone to just say that I haven’t died, I’ve just been busy working on my book for A/W about Mongrel. I had contracted with them to do a book about deploying Mongrel, but then decided it wouldn’t be a very good book since we’d already done one about that topic and there wasn’t too much more to say.

Bam! This is the new ZSFA look thanks to a fun graphic designer who probably wants to remain anonymous. It’s the same basic template but with some sliced up graphics and tables all 1997 style. Love it.

It must have been my listening to Paul ‘Wine’ Jones all day that inspired the tables. Well, that and CSS was designed by a bunch of crack monkeys with no concept of algorithmic layout and consistency. Dammit why didn’t they read anything Knuth wrote? Why?

When changing my layout to some tables shaves off 300% of the complexity I begin to wonder why I bother with today’s HTML. I think I’m going to explore just how simple I can get the HTML and CSS by rejecting all that Zen CSS bullshit the lemmings are following.

I took a break from replying to emails, but I still have about 100 to go. I can’t wait to drop my next rant on you guys. It’s going to be tons of fun and involves Tina Turner.

If you sent me a job offer I’m still replying in person, but I’m going to turn it down. I’m doing good where I’m at right now, assuming they don’t can my sorry butt soon for my rock star quality blog here.

I swear man, if people don’t get that my writing and ranting is at least 1/2 joke I’m gonna just give up. It’s supposed to be funny to be mean to people! At least that’s what the internet has taught me.
